ABOUT PEAPACK-GLADSTONE FIRST AID & RESCUE SQUAD INC.

The Peapack-Gladstone First Aid & Rescue Squad has been the primary provider for ambulance service and emergency medical care to the Borough of Peapack and Gladstone in Somerset County since 1935. Our 20 volunteers attend approximately 300 calls for service every year, ranging from simple falls, to heart attacks, to serious traffic collisions and everything in between. Our members are certified as Emergency Medical Technicians by the New Jersey State Department of Health, a certification that gives us the knowledge to tend to all types of injuries and medical emergencies. Peapack-Gladstone First Aid & Rescue Squad is also licensed by New Jersey State Department of Health to provide a Basic Life Support service, meaning we are under the same clinical oversight, and follow the same regulations as hospital based ambulance services.
We provide this service from our station on St. Lukes Ave in Peapack. From there we operate our two ambulances as well as our 4-wheel drive off road rescue vehicle which gives us the capability to safely access patients who have been taken ill or become injured in areas not easily accessible from the road.
The squad is funded entirely by donations from residents and the local municipality- we do not bill for our services!
Peapack is fortunate to be in close proximity to some of the best hospitals in the country, hospitals that we routinely transport our patients to. Should our patients be suffering a serious medical condition, such as a stroke or a heart attack, we receive assistance on the road side from Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Units based out of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, or Morristown Medical Center in Morristown.
We are very proud that we have been able to provide such a well equipped, high level of service, staffed entirely by volunteers, to the residents of Peapack and Gladstone for the past 88 years, and hope to provide it for at least the next 88.
HISTORY
We are currently digging through our past 81 years of history. In the meantime check out some of the pictures we have found so far!

Ambulance design sure has come a long way. These photos are of some of our prior ambulances.
